The storm emergency expanded beyond Wayne County; response is active while river flooding moves downstream.
By August 15, President Trump had approved Indiana's request for federal disaster assistance and Gov. Mike Braun had activated the Indiana National Guard. Indiana's State Emergency Operations Center reported six deaths since the storm system began August 11. The White River peaked in Indianapolis early August 16; a National Weather Service statement issued at noon said widespread river flooding continued, the crest was moving south of Indianapolis, and warnings remained in effect into the week.
EVIDENCE BOUNDARYDeclarations and federal approval establish response authority and access to support; they do not prove that a household, county, or project received money. Counts and conditions changed during the event. Use current NWS warnings, local alerts, and Indiana 511 for action. No Wayne County countywide all-clear was located.
